Dear Mr. Burke
Polish Pilot Tadeusz Wrona is a hero who saved the lives of 230 passengers with a flawless emergency landing after the wheels on his Boeing 767 failed to lower. Wrona was dubbed "the Polish Captain Sullenburger," but Seth Meyers of Saturday Night Live showed his bigotry with an ethnic slur saying, "I believe a 'Polish Sully' is when you land a boat at an airport."
Really? Really, Seth? Prejudice is funny? You are guilty of the worst crime for a comedian - you're not funny. And, you're a bigot.
The Polish Fighter Squadron in the RAF were the most effective pilots in the Battle of Britain, helping to save London, shooting down German Luftwaffe planes at a higher rate than English pilots. And Polish pilot Francis Stanely "Gabby" Gabreski was the top fighter ace in the United States Air Force during World War II.
Wrona, Gabreski and other Polish bomber pilots were heroes. The only thing Meyers ever "bombed" was when he hosted the White House Correspondents dinner, and he bombs each week as the unfunny host of the SNL news.
I will boycott SNL and urge my friends to do so until Meyers apologizes.
