Newly Constructed Condominiums For Sale in GREENPOINT (Brooklyn)

Herbert Street Condos is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 14 condominium units located at 37-43 Herbert Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn.

Informational seminars will be held on: Tuesday April 21st and Tuesday May 5th, 2009 at 6:30 PM at the
Polish National Home, 261 Driggs Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11222
Seminar attendance is not mandatory to purchase a home.

Herbert Street Condos is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for 14 condominium units located at 37-43 Herbert Street in the Greenpoint section of Brooklyn. This property is being developed through the New Foundations Homeownership Program of
New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the New York State Affordable Housing Corporation and the Housing Partnership Development Corporation. The location, price and income requirements for these 14 condominium units are as follows:


* Sale Prices, minimum income levels, down payment and closing costs are estimates and subject to change.
** Adjusted for family size.


Qualified applicants will be required to obtain mortgage financing and should have at least 5% to 20% of the purchase price for down payment, be able to afford all closing costs, and meet additional selection criteria. For an application, please send a self-addressed envelope to or pick-up in person from: North Brooklyn Development Corp., 148-150 Huron Street, Brooklyn, New York 11222. Completed applications must be returned by regular mail only (no certified, registered, express or overnight mail will be accepted) to a post office box number that will be listed with the application. All applications must be postmarked by June 3, 2009.

Applications postmarked after June 3, 2009 will be set aside for possible future consideration. Applications will be selected by lottery. Applicants who submit more than one application will be disqualified. Duplicated applications will not be accepted. Preference will be given to New York City residents.  Current residents of Brooklyn Community District 1 will receive a preference for 50% of the units. Eligible households that include persons with mobility impairments will receive a preference for 5% of the units; eligible households that include persons with visual and/or hearing impairments will receive a preference for 2% of the units; and municipal employees of New York City will receive a preference for 5% of the units. Prospective applicants who currently own or have owned in the past five years a subsidized property developed under an HPD, HDC or Partnership program are ineligible.
