The piano starts to play in the background and all conversation intuitively quiets down. All eyes focus on the elegant couple dancing together; they relive a certain charm and old-world glamour that is only understood by those present at the Grand Ballroom this February evening.
Whether you recall the famous Plaza Hotel from strolls in nearby Central Park, or are one of the few who had the opportunity to see its grandiloquent interior, The Ball gives you unique opportunity to dance the traditional Polonaise in this timeless landmark’s Grand Ballroom. A place known for its neoclassicism, lavish charities, and a fantasyland for networking; the opulent ball room is a magnet for those who respect its tradition and seek to relive the memories that made The Plaza the center of luxury.

It was once said that “nothing unimportant ever happens at The Plaza.” An inspiration for both younger and older generations, the annual Bal Polonaise at the Plaza provides the style and setting that all could only dream of – yes, those unfulfilled Cinderella dreams and boyish charm we only hear about in movies or fairy tales. The 4,800-square-foot ballroom maintains its 1929 look. Ball attendees can enjoy the ballroom’s original chandeliers, six ceiling oil murals of angels and cherubs, not to mention classical music in the background, as champagne and conversation lighten the atmosphere in the foreground. As a case in point, Truman Capote hosted his legendary “Black & White Ball at The Plaza.” Dignitaries, presidents, as well as actors, used this ballroom for private receptions, weddings, and lavish charity events.
