Students to Plant Seeds for School Vegetable Garden in Canarsie, Brooklyn

Mural painting project to promote Friendship, Kindness, Love, and Respect. Students at Our Lady of Trust Catholic Academy, in partnership with Cornell University and 4 H, will kick off a vegetable garden planting initiative tomorrow, Friday, June 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., located at 1696 Canarsie Road in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn.

The students will work with Cornell and 4 H in creating a healthy living agricultural program which will include 10 planters. The students will plant different seeds tomorrow including tomatoes, onion, basil, parsley, and collard greens.

Upon completion of the planting, students will take part in the painting of a mural that will in part read “God’s Love Grows at OLTCA.” Students will also paint clouds featuring the following words: Friendship, Kindness, Love, and Respect.
