Please join us at The Kosciuszko Foundation to learn about this forgotten chapter of the most horrific war in human history.
Polish troops fought Nazi Germany longer than any other army. The Poles closed the Falaise Gap, which ended the Battle of Normandy, and captured the summit at the Battle of Monte Cassino in Italy. But these stories of Polish soldiers, pilots, and spies who shed blood in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland, and other countries were buried by Nazi and Soviet propaganda. Now, this history is finally being told, and these heroic freedom fighters are getting their due.
The Kosciuszko Foundation is hosting an exhibit in cooperation with Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance to uncover this past. TRAILS OF HOPE tells the story of soldiers who were simultaneously attacked by Nazi Germany and Soviet Russia. Overwhelmed by larger armies, the Poles were down but not out and continued the fight from Siberia, the Middle East, Africa, the Battle of London, over the English Channel, and across Europe to help defeat Adolf Hitler’s regime.
