CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of 2018 Kosciuszko Foundation Marcella Sembrich International Voice Competition in New York
1st Prize ($8,000) and 3 Special Awards - Alexandra Nowakowski, soprano;
2nd Prize and 3 Special Awards - Hubert Zapiór, baritone;
3rd Prize and 1 Special Award - WooYoung Yoon, tenor.
Big thank you to the esteemed Jury: Diane Zola (Metropolitan Opera), Nino Sanikidze (Los Angeles Opera), Greg Henkel (San Francisco Opera), Francesco Bottigliero, conductor, Honorary Jurors and Special Guests - renowned opera singers: Joseph Calleja, Mariusz Kwiecien and Pretty Yende; thank you to Brent Funderburk, the pianist, all Competition Participants, Volunteers and most of all a BIG THANK YOU TO EDYTA KULCZAK, ARTISTIC DIRECTOR for an outstanding work and elevating this Competition to a new level!

Founded in 1925, the Kosciuszko Foundation promotes closer ties between Poland and the United States through educational, scientific and cultural exchanges. It awards up to $1 million annually in fellowships and grants to graduate students, scholars, scientists, professionals, and artists, and promotes Polish culture in America. The Foundation has awarded scholarships and provided a forum to Poles who have changed history.
