SKOCZYLAS. POLISH WOODCUT - A Special Exhibition illustrating works by Wladyslaw Skoczylas (1883-1934)

Opening of the Exhibition - Wed., May 16, 2018, 6:00 p.m.
The Exhibition will be on view through June 1, 2018

The event is free and open to the public. Donations to the KF Cultural Fund are welcome.

The Exhibition is presented in partnership with: The Consulate General of Poland in New York, Mariusz Kazana Foundation, The Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland and PSFCU.



The project is co-financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland from the Polish Diaspora Fund.

The exhibition presents works by Władysław Skoczylas (1883-1934), graphic artist, painter, woodcutter, sculptor and educator; one of the most popular Polish artists of the 20th century. His works represent a unique, pre-war style, have mostly a national character and were often inspired by the Polish folk art. The exhibition consists of reprints made from the original woodcut blocks by a group of students from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Poland.
