Annual Fryderyk Chopin Concert in Philadelphia, PA

The Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia, an affiliate of the American Council for Polish Culture (ACPC) announces its Annual Fryderyk Chopin Concert, which will take place on Sunday, March 11, 2018, at 2:00PM at the Sister Francesca Onley Education Center (formerly the Holy Family University Education & Technology Center) 9801 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19114.

 Featured artist is Alexei Tartakovsky. Tickets are $30.00 each; students, $20.00, with appropriate ID, and may be purchased at the door. A light reception follows the recital.

Called “a thoughtful and serious musician” by the New York Concert Review, Russian-American pianist Alexei Tartakovsky is one of the most promising young virtuoso talents of his generaion. His beautiful sound, profound musicianship, superb technique and exciting artistic approach have thrilled audiences worldwide.

In 2016, Alexei was awarded the French Prize at the Cleveland Inernational Piano Competition. A highlight of his career was his outstanding performance at the 2015 Chopin International Competition in Warsaw, Poland.

Alexei did his undergraduate studies at Juilliard and CUNY Queens College, received his Master of Music degree from the Peabody Conservatory, and an Artist Diploma from Yale School of Music. He is currently pursuing his doctorate with Richard Goode at CUNY Graduate Center, where he was awarded the coveted Graduate Center Fellowship.

The Polish Heritage Society of Philadelphia is dedicated to fostering interest in the culture, history and customs of Poland and her people as well as disseminating information regarding the accomplishments of Poles and Polish-Americans. The Society also offers scholarship grants and sponsors lectures on Polish and Polish-American topics. The society has been in existence since 1965, we are in our 53rd year.
