The movie depicts Warsaw Uprising: one of the most dramatic episodes of the twentieth century, the biggest battle of the Resistance Movement in Europe during the Second World War, an important military contribution of the Polish nation in the struggle for Europe’s freedom, as well as heroism, patriotism and dedication of the generation of Poles at that time. The purpose of the movie is to get international audience acquainted with the importance of the Warsaw Uprising and its heritage.

One of the biggest advantages of the movie are its poignant and insightful interviews with Uprising’s veterans, historians and politicians. Movie’s director speaks with British historian, Norman Davies as well as former US National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski and Professor Marek Chodkiewicz from the Institute of World Politics in Washington. Among survivors of the Uprising the audience sees Jan Nowak- Jezioranski- former director of the Polish Section of Radio Free Europe, Dr. Julian Kulski and Dr. Jan Moor Jankowski.
