Piano Concert by Jerzy Stryjniak in New York

Jerzy Stryjniak is considered as one of the top five Polish pianists of today (American Society for Polish Music). He has been described as "a pianist and teacher of outstanding ability" (Byron Janis), and "an artists of a great talent, an astonishing virtuosity and impeccable musicality" (Marta Ptaszynska).

Jerzy Stryjniak made his SOLD OUT debut at Carnegie's Weill Recital Hall in 1990 as the winner of Artist’s International’s Special Presentation Award which was described by the The New York Times as "impressive, dazzling and compelling". The following season, Artist International presented Jerzy Stryjniak, in its Alumni-Winners Series at Carnegie’s Weill Recital Hall, in which he again enhanced the prestige of the series by giving another outstanding performance. Jerzy Stryjniak’s performances include solo piano recitals and appearances with orchestra in the US, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Hungary, Japan, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon and Syria. He has been invited to participate in numerous music festivals, including "Die Polnische Woche" in Essen, Germany; the Flemish International Chopin Festival in Belgium; the International Chopin Festival in Naples; the International Festival at Duszniki Zdroj in Poland; and the International Chopin Festival in Antonin, Poland.

Jerzy Stryjniak has continued to perform on numerous stages throughout New York City, including a series of recitals celebrating the 200th birthday of Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt. In 2008, he performed to a SOLD OUT house in Zankel Hall, Carnegie Hall to celebrate his own 50th birthday and 30 years of his pianistic career. In 2010, as part of the International Chopin Festival organized by the Chopin Society of New York, Mr. Stryjniak performed at Alice Tully Hall and Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, together with Olga Kern and other outstanding artists.

Jerzy Stryjniak has received many awards and distinctions, including the Fulbright Scholarship, Honors from the President of the City of Krakow and top awards from the Polish Ministry of Culture including Member Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland and Gloria Artis medal for his outstanding artistic achievements and charitable activities .He was awarded First Prize at the International Piano Competition (Artists International) in 1990, First Prize at the Polish Piano Festival in Slupsk in 1983, and First Prize at the Frederic Chopin Scholarship Competition in Warsaw in 1983.

Jerzy Stryjniak is co-founder and President of the New York Conservatory of Music in Manhattan. As artist in residence, he also teaches a select group of talented young pianists. He continues to conduct master classes in Europe as well as across the United States. He was Chairman of the Judges at the International Piano Competition in Connecticut in 1994 and has been a juror at several piano competitions in New York since 1994.

Jerzy Stryjniak has also founded the Chopin Society of New York and is its acting President.

He is currently recording for American Masters Recording & Management, which has released his all-Chopin and all-Liszt CDs, available through the New York Conservatory of Music. He has been collaborating on these projects with Carnegie Hall's Recording Studio Manager, Leszek Wojcik. He has also recorded for "Muza", Poland's prestigious recording company, for the archival library of Polish Radio, for Radio Free Europe, and for Voice of America.

Over the last few years he has had a busy international touring schedule, beginning in the United States and continuing throughout Europe. His programs have included many major works of Frederic Chopin and Franz Liszt.
