DC Concert Peace Through Music "In Our Age" under the direction of “The Papal Maestro” Sir Gilbert Levine

In honor of the canonizations of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII we present a historic musical celebration under the direction of “The Papal Maestro” Sir Gilbert Levine with the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Kraków Philharmonic Choir and Washington Choral Arts Society.
Under the direction of “The Papal Maestro” Sir Gilbert Levine, who created and conducted numerous concerts for peace for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican and around the world, The Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Kraków Philharmonic Choir and Washington Choral Arts Society will perform celebratory music by some of the world’s greatest composers: Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Henryk Górecki, Giuseppe Verdi and Johannes Brahms, all on the theme of transcendent spiritual unity.
American conductor Sir Gilbert Levine, a world-renowned artist who created and conducted numerous concerts for peace for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican and around the world, will perform celebratory music by some of the world’s greatest composers: Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Henryk Górecki, Giuseppe Verdi and Johannes Brahms, all on the theme of transcendent spiritual unity.
H.E. Ryszard Schnepf, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the United States, will attend together with Cardinal Donald Wuerl, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, President John DeGioia of Georgetown University, and the ambassadors of Italy and Argentina. PBS will record and broadcast this concert worldwide.
