Following the huge success of the Andrzej Zulawski retrospective in 2012, the Polish Cultural Institute is once again partnering with BAMcinématek to present Kino Polska: New Polish Cinema, New York City's largest showcase of new Polish film in 2014, featuring the very best productions of 2012 and 2013. In pride of place will be Andrzej Wajda's acclaimed Walesa: Man of Hope, Poland's Oscar submission this year, making its New York premiere the opening night of the series. Other highlights include Joanna Kos-Krauze and Krzysztof Krauze's cinematographically gorgeous Papusza; Pawel Pawlikowski's Ida; Montreal Film Festival multiple prize winner Life Feels Good (Chce sie zyc) by Maciej Pieprzyca; Andrzej Jakimowski's Imagine, which had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival last year; and fresh from the 2013 Gdynia Festival Lasting (Nieulotne) by Jacek Borcuch, Floating Skyskrapers (Plynace wiezowce) by Tomasz Wasilewski, The Closed Circuit (Uklad zamkniety) by Ryszard Bugajski, and Loving (Milosc) by Slawomir Fabicki. Walesa: Man of Hope, Life Feels Good, Loving, Lasting and Papusza are all confirmed New York premieres.
