The Central and East European Coalition (CEEC) hosted an April 22, 2021 panel discussion event highlighting issues facing NATO ahead of the 2021 NATO summit. The event focused on topics that are relevant to U.S. policy regarding the nations of Central and Eastern Europe and beyond.
The event is titled "CEEC Policy Briefing: Runup to the 2021 NATO Summit" and featured two panels with top policy experts. The first addressed specific challenges for the alliance, specifically security challenges in the Black Sea region; NATO’s open door policy and interoperability challenges; and challenges in securing the Suwalki Corridor. The second panel looked at bigger picture NATO policy priorities for the CEE region. Speakers were: Mr. Ian Brzezinski of the Atlantic Council, LTG (Retired) Ben Hodges of CEPA, Dr. Suzanne Loftus of the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies, Mr. Greg Melcher of the New Generation Warfare Centre, Ambassador Richard Morningstar of the Atlantic Council, and Ambassador Kurt Volker of CEPA.
