Polish Cultural Foundation, Clark, NJ needs your help!
November 12, 2013
As you are aware, this year, 2013 , has been a disastrous year for many including the Polish Cultural Foundation.
Dear Member, Supporter
Hurricane "Sandy" left its mark on the Foundation by not only ripping the roof from the "Rozanski Bldg" (bldg 3) it lifted off the roof from building 2, as well as causing substantial damages to the interiors. Since last October, three(3) of the second floor rooms cannot be used. ceilings must be scrapped and repainted as well as the walls along with replacing the overhead classroom lights because of water penetration and resulting damage. The portions of the vinyl floor must be replaced. Damages to those two buildings alone was appraised at close to two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for which insurance at this time has agreed to cover only one hundred sixty thousand ($160,000). Approximately $36,000 more is needed to complete storm related repairs.
We are faced with a greater problem, the roof on the main building, which is 40 years old, has given up its usefulness and is leaking throughout and on to the rooms below,(9 classrooms, the Skulski Gallery, the Music Room, the Board Room and the Internet Cafe). Insurance will not cover any of the expenses for replacing the roof because it is not "storm damage" and because of its age. Estimates received are that it will cost approximately $170,000 to replace the roof over the main building
We have reached that point where we as an organization find no other alternative but to ask you for your much needed help by asking for your financial support. Minimally you are asked for $100, or what you can afford, as a contribution specifically for roof repairs. You can make your donation directly to the PCF or through Pay-Pal. Ask your employer if they would like to make a matching funds contribution.
As a 501(c)3 organization all donations are acknowledged and qualify for a 2013 tax right-off.
Sincerely,
Ronald A. Syslo
Chairman of the Board of Trustees
