State of Emergency in Poland - Security Alert

On September 2, the government of Poland introduced a state of emergency for a period of at least 30 days in parts of Podlaskie and Lubelskie in connection with the current migratory situation on the border between the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Belarus. In the areas under the state of emergency, which will include the popular tourist destination of Bialowieza Forest, the following regulations will be in place:
- All gatherings, mass events, and cultural or entertainment events are prohibited,
- All individuals over 18 years old must carry an ID in public places, and students under 18 must carry a student ID,
- Physical presence at certain times in marked places, facilities, and areas is prohibited,
- Recording images of certain places, facilities or areas is prohibited,
- Carrying any type of weapon, ammunition or explosive materials is prohibited,
- Access to public information regarding activities conducted in the area under the state of emergency is limited.

All U.S. citizens in the affected areas of Podlaskie and Lubelskie should follow the guidelines of the state of emergency.
