Comprehensive Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program and Dr. Dariusz Nasiek, MD has helped people with chronic pain return to an active lifestyle. The Comprehensive Pain Rehabilitation Center offers individualized plan to help patient with difficult, and resistant to treat chronic pain conditions.

Patients may have tried already other pain interventions, medications, surgeries and physical therapy — with little improvement in their function or pain levels.

Our pain rehabilitation program - with Dr Nasiek and group of specialists physicians and non-physicians providers - is based on clinical knowledge that chronic pain requires different interventions than acute pain does.

Over time, individuals with chronic pain may have restricted their lifestyles and lost strength to the point that even daily activities cause pain. Managing chronic pain requires an active, consistent approach to help individuals cope more effectively with pain.

We provide or work closely with the integrated team of health care professionals trained in many areas, including:

  1. Pain medicine,
  2. Physical therapy,
  3. Psychology,
  4. Psychiatry,
  5. Pharmacology,
  6. Occupational therapy,
  7. Biofeedback
  8. Nutrition
  9. Acupuncture,
  10. Yoga

In his program Dr Nasiek, MD emphasizes multi-level approach and focuses on a self-management approach to chronic pain. With the support of the staff, participants regain strength and stamina, and shift toward a focus on what they can do rather than what they cannot.

We treat many different types of chronic pain and conditions.

  • Chronic back pain and neck pain
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Generalized pain or pain in multiple areas
  • Abdominal pain
  • Pelvic pain
  • Upper or lower body pain, such as pain in the chest wall, jaw, face, pelvis or joints
  • Pain after removal of breast tissue from a breast (mastectomy)
  • Pain after hernia surgery (hernioraphy)
  • Nerve damage and neuropathic pain
  • Arthritis
  • Complex regional pain syndrome CRPS
  • Dysautonomia
  • Other medical conditions associated with pain that lasts for more than six months or beyond the expected healing time
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD

In addition to chronic pain, some people also have depression. Doctors trained in mental health conditions (psychiatrists and psychologists) evaluate our patient condition. If the severity of the condition warrants further treatments Ketamine infusion may be initiated as part of the therapy.

Chronic Pain Rehabilitation

Chronic pain affects millions of Americans. Most people with chronic pain have tried multiple treatment strategies without relief. Pain can interfere with a person’s ability to work, participate in daily and recreational activities and may affect their relationships with family or friends. Over time people with chronic pain may restrict their activities, which in turn, causes them to become less physically fit to the point that even minor activities may cause increased pain.

Research has shown that chronic pain is mostly due to changes in the nervous system that increase its sensitivity to the point that even normal stimulation may be painful. The pain that people experience is largely a result of these neurological changes. People’s ability to function, however, is more determined by general body health/fitness and psychological factors. The same is true of overall suffering. Therefore the program focuses primarily on reconditioning and psychological coping strategies to ensure that chronic pain does not take over a person’s life. When it has already done so, the goal is to restore the person to their maximum level of comfort and function.
We work as part of an interdisciplinary team in the Comprehensive Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program. The program has a strong exercise focus that helps patients gain strength, endurance, and flexibility. The program will help improving posture and body mechanics so that patients may resume their normal daily activities and regain enjoyment in their life.

Who is chronic pain rehabilitation program for?

Our program is designed for patients with type of pain that is unresponsive to conventional treatments. Pain from an injury or disease usually subsides following medical care or disappears spontaneously. Unfortunately for some patients this is not a case. Living with chronic pain requires a change in mindset so that chronic pain doesn’t evolve into a disability affecting daily activities, attitudes and relationships. The Comprehensive Chronic Pain Rehabilitation Program addresses these issues with a multi-disciplinary team skilled in managing chronic pain. We create an individualized plan for each person. Collaboration among team members allows us to address all the aspects of the patient life that may be affected by chronic pain.
