New York: Spirit of Jan Karski Award Ceremony
September 29, 2016
This year we are honoring Nicholas Kristof, The New York Times columnist, two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, and an influential voice drawing public attention to humanitarian issues around the world, such as human trafficking and war crimes.
His coverage of Tiananmen Square protests and the Darfur genocide, as well as his reports about the violations of human rights across the globe have raised awareness about the humanitarian crisis the world faces today. Mr. Kristof was The New York Times’s first blogger and currently has more than 1.4 million followers on Twitter. Go to his blog to read his column.
The award is given by the Jan Karski Educational Foundation to distinguished individuals who have demonstrated the principles represented by Jan Karski through their actions.
