Join us for an afternoon of Polish and American classical music. Children will hear the stories of composers and the historical background of four classical songs. In this interactive performance, families will experience ways in which music illustrates the story, both vocal and instrumental through rhythmic patterns, dynamics, basic harmonies, and tempos. Learn sections of the music and sing along!
Wojciech Bukalski has come to the attention of opera companies nationwide for his fine, fluid bass and his excellent interpretive abilities. His versatility and artistic presence have led to performances of a wide range of roles including Leporello, Bartolo, Colline, Zuniga, Sarastro, Figaro, Méphistophélès, Basilio, Bonze, Horace, Henry Kissinger, Archiereios, Nardo and Dr.Grenvil. Mr. Bukalski and has had the privilege of performing with many distinguished opera companies and festivals in the US and abroad including The Metropolitan Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Atlanta Opera, New York City Opera, Long Beach Opera, Opera Omaha, Mobile Opera, Teatr Wielki National Opera House in Warsaw, Poland, Warsaw Chamber Opera, Ash Lawn Opera Festival, Colorado Music Festival, Bear Valley Music Festival, Virginia Opera and Bard Music Festival.
Mr. Bukalski will be accompanied by Kathryn Olander who works regularly as coach/rehearsal pianist with New York City Opera.
