Both professional musician, Chris in 2013 and Johnny in 2014, became co-gold medalist in the Texas organization's 21st and 22nd International Chopin Piano Competition.
Talented brothers perform under the name of the Fryderyk Chopin Society of Texas, which was established in 1989. The Society's goal is to offer various performances and special events of the highest quality to the people of South Texas.
Johnny and Chris Rice are students of the private studio of Steinway Artist Robert Hamilton, Professor of Piano at Arizona State University. They were students of Taki Atsumi, also of the ASU faculty. Performing as "The Rice Brothers" they represent classical music, jazz and professional skills, and bring a great touch of history of the great composers and the times in which they lived. "We have always felt an affinity for the music of Chopin," Chris Rice says.
