The Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Katyn Massacre

The Katyn Massacre was a series of mass executions of 22,000 Polish officers, intellectuals and other elites by Soviet authorities in the Spring of 1940.
Today we observe the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Katyn Massacre.
The Soviets targeted leaders of Polish society with the intention of destroying the Polish nation. The Poles who died in Katyn and other locations in the Soviet Union gave their lives for their faithfulness to Poland.
