The films are recommended for all ages either dubbed in English or with no dialogue.
To brighten the season’s dark cold days, PS 110’s PTA has once again organized a winter a series of films at PS 110, the Monitor School (124 Monitor St.) via the CinéSchool education program. February’s presentation will be a festival of seven short films from Poland on February the 9th: doors open at 2 p.m., movies begin at 2:30 p.m. four of the films are 2 to 3 minutes in length, two films are 13 minutes, and the final film, Peter and the Wolf (Piotruś i Wilk), by Suzie Templeton, 2006 is 32 minutes. The first film It’s Quite True (To pewna wiadomość!) by Joanna Jasińska-Koronkiewicz, will have live musical accompaniment by PS 110 music teacher Mr. Monaghan, and a group of his talented students.
Tickets will be sold at the door $5/adult – $3/child – $10/family of +3. All proceeds will benefit PS 110 art programs. Snacks & bake sale! All children must be accompanied by an adult/parent. No drop-off. PS 110 is thankful for the support of the Polish & Slavic Federal Credit Union and TV Studio of Animation Films LTD.
The next and final presentation of this series will be a showing of Travis Knight’s Kubo and the Two Strings on Saturday, March 23. This animated feature features the voices of Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey.
