We invite Polish Summer Work Travel participants to submit photographs that highlight their experience in America. Photographs may focus on the natural environment, culture, people, or places in the United States, among other subjects.
The U.S. Mission to Poland is excited to announce the 2017 edition of the “My America: Summer Work Travel” photo contest. The contest is open to participants from any program year. Check out the finalists from our previous photo contest here.
Photographs will be judged by a panel comprised of U.S. Embassy Warsaw and U.S. Consulate General Krakow staff. Criteria for judging the photos include, but are not limited to: relevance to the contest title, originality, creativity, and composition. The jury will select up to twenty-five finalists, one of which will be named the first grand winner. The grand prize winner will receive an Apple iPad, the second prize winner will receive an iPod Nano, and the third prize winner will receive an iPod Shuffle. Other finalists will receive special America-themed gift bags. Finalists’ photographs may be displayed publically online or at the Embassy or Consulate General.
Each participant may submit a maximum of two photographs by email to: SWTPoland@state.gov. Each photograph must include a title, description, location and month and year the photo was taken. Photo submissions must be in jpg format, 5 megabytes or smaller, and photo size must be at least 3,000 pixels on the longest side. Contestants must confirm their participation in the Summer Work Travel Program by including the following statement in the text of their e-mail submission: “I confirm that I participated in the Summer Work Travel Program in [this year].” Entries may be submitted between August 31 and October 22, 2017. The results will be announced in December on the U.S. Mission to Poland website and social media. More detailed information on the contest and how to enter is included in the official contest rules (PDF).
The Summer Work Travel program provides foreign students with the opportunity to live, work and travel in the United States during their summer vacation from college or university. During their summer in America, students learn about the people and culture of the United States. More information on the Summer Work Travel program can be found here.
