During his live radio interview Ambassador Piotr Wilczek addressed the Trump Administration’s policies toward Russia, especially within the NATO context, as well as the recent invitation extended to President Trump to visit Poland
"Everyone today is interested in Russia, which is why it is only natural that the Senate sought out Ambassadors from Central and Eastern Europe to learn our opinion. We are much closer” explained Ambassador Wilczek, referring to the Senate hearing on March 7 that included testimony from the Ambassadors of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine.
The Ambassador, in describing Russia’s policies in Europe, highlighted measures enacted by President Putin to heighten the readiness of Russia’s armed forces, as well as Russia’s alleged interference in the US Presidential campaign.
Professor Wilczek is hopeful that US President Donald Trump will visit Poland on the occasion of the planned Three Seas Forum set to take place in Wroclaw, Poland in July of this year. The invitation to this event from President Andrzej Duda and Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović was presented to the White House by Minister Krzysztof Szczerski during his visit to Washington, DC in February.
