The First Polish Fashion Show in New York Starts on September 8

Polish Fashion Week will take place this September 2015, concurrently with New York Fashion Week, the preeminent fashion event in North America. This year, the designers will be presenting their spring/Summer 2016 collections at the first-ever Polish Fashion Week. Among these designers will be stars, already well-established on the Polish scene, as well as fresh, up-and-coming talents, new to the runway.

The Polish-American Fashion Foundation announces their first annual New York Fashion Show to be held September 8, 2015 (starting 7pm) at Manhattan's New Museum during New York Fashion Week, the premiere fashion event in North America. The fashion show will debut new Spring/Summer 2016 collections by three of Poland's designers, Paprocki&Brzozowski, Viola Spiechowicz, and MIA. The designers were selected from a nationwide fashion design competition held in Krakow. The collections will also be available for retailers to view at a sales showroom in the days following the September 8th fashion show ((INGLOT Pro-Studio: Chelsea Market, 75 9th Avenue, 5th Floor, New York, NY 10011, September 10 and 11 from 11 am to 4pm). The sales showroom will be located at the New York headquarters of the Polish cosmetics brand Inglot, one of the event's lead sponsors. The sales showroom will provide an opportunity for top retailers to order the collections for their stores. Top journalists, fashion editors, stylists, bloggers and other VIPs are expected to attend.

PAPROCKI & BRZOZOWSKI
Marcin Paprocki and Mariusz Brzozowski are graduates of the Faculty of Textiles and Fashion at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz. In 2000, they formed the duo paprocki&brzozowski. After graduating in 2002, their first collection debuted in Warsaw and granted the designers their first award for Designers of the Year (2004) by ELLE magazine. Since then, the brand has been associated with original ideas featuring unique designs, details, and fabrics. The designershave won the European Association for the Promotion of Young Talents PROMETA Award (Krakow); the Golden Thread Award (Lodz); and title of Fashion and Art Personality received at the 5th FASHION AND ART Gala in Wroclaw. In 2008, Marcin and Mariusz received the Honorary Golden Thread granted by the Lodz International Fair and have twice been named Designers of the Year by the readers of the Polish edition of ELLE magazine.

SPIECHOWICZ STUDIO
Since 2006, Viola Spiechowicz has been designing both ready-to-wear and evening collections under the Spiechowicz Studio name. Viola's style is consistent and recognizable. Her innovative approach to design results in unique, sculptural constructions. Viola has received several awards including a three-time "Fashion Excellence" title (from Twoj Styl magazine), Designer of the Year by the National Chamber of Fashion, as well as the "Elle Trophy" awarded at the Italian Fashion Fair "Pitti Immagine."

MIA
MIA is the mother-daughter pair of Anna and Iwona Marganski.
With backgrounds in architecture and graphic design, they take an innovative approach to their designs and materials. MIA's work is characterized by the dominance of form over color - materials are informed by the human body and space. The work is simple and carefully implemented, modern and uniformed.

The event is organized by The Polish-American Fashion Foundation, which is a non-profit institution founded in 2014 by New York-based Polish architect Alexandra Borowczak.
