Polish Team “Semper Fi” to take part in the 39th Marine Corps Marathon

Team Semper Fi is headed by Ret. General Roman Polko, former commander of Polish special forces unit GROM, who served in Iraq.

The Polish Embassy in Washington DC hosted a press conference for the Polish Charity Team “Semper Fi” from the Grow with Us Foundation, who arrived in the US Capital to take part in the 39th Marine Corps Marathon.

On October 24, Team “Semper Fi” presented their team and their mission at a press conference organized at the Polish Embassy in Washington, DC. Among those present included the host of the event, Polish Defense Attache, Brigadier General Jaroslaw Strozyk, as well as journalists, representatives of the Marine Corps Marathon headed by Director Rick Nealis, as well as Washington Wizard’s starting center Marcin Gortat, who is a strong support of Polish veterans and their families.

The President of the Republic of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski is the honorary patron of this charity mission, which supports educational opportunities for the children of Polish soldiers who fell in the line of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Grow with Us Foundation was established by 27 of the largest companies in Poland, many of whom are competitors on the market scene, however they have united their efforts to support children from families in which the parent died while in public service.
