McGolrick park in Greenpoint received $500,000

27 sierpnia, 2014

Brooklyn Borough president Eric Adams announced $5.2 million in funding mostly for neighborhood parks, a bold move our communities haven\'t seen in years.

$500,000 will go to McGolrick park playground renovations. Another win for our community!

We thank Eric Adams, for helping make Brooklyn a better place for everyone. Thanks as well to BK Parks commissioner Kevin Jeffries, Deputy Brooklyn Borough President Diana Reyna (her former council district community are also avid users of McGolrick park), Councilman Stephen Levin and staff, and to Ed Janoff at Open Space Alliance for North Brooklyn, and to our local community board for helping make this a priority.

In the 8 months since the MPNA started we\'ve done a lot of lobbying at all levels of local government so it\'s wonderful to now see our community getting the attention it deserves. So far we now have a total $1.3M in public funding allocated to the playground renovation effort. Thanks for all your support, and there\'s more goodness to come!
