47 hunters representing hunting associations form New York and other states competed in two categories: skeet and trap, as well as two classes: champion and general class.
VII Polish Shooting Competition for the Cup of the Polish Consul General in New York took place on Saturday, August 2nd in Centennial Gun & Bow Club - Polish-American Hunting Club. Vice-consul Joanna Byszewska-Zapletal represented the Consulate General.
47 hunters representing hunting associations form New York and other states took part in this year’s edition of the Competition. They competed in two categories: skeet and trap, as well as two classes: champion and general class. The winner of the skeet category, champion class, was Edward Szybisty, Witold Szulejko came second and Krzystof Trela third. In the same category, general class, Damian Urbaniak achieved first place, Krzysztof Kaźmierczak was second and Antoni Mikosz third. In trap category, champion class, Piotr Hart achieved the best result beating Mirosław Pieronek who was second and Marek Sałyga who was third.
In the general classification for the Polish Consul General’s Cup Damian Urbanik was honoured with a gold medal, Edward Szybisty with a silver medal and Piotr Hart with a bronze medal.
In the women category the winner was Marta Nowacka, Magdalena Koluch classified as the second and Alina Skrzypkowska as the third. Sponsors were also competing: Wojciech Maślanka from “Nowy Dziennik” won first prize, Marcin Byszewski, vice-consul’s husband, won second prize and Leszek Sadowski from “Nowy Dziennik” won third prize.
During the awards ceremony viceconsul Joanna Byszewska-Zapletal, on behalf of the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in New York Ewa Junczyk-Ziomecka thanked the representatives of the Centennial Gun & Bow Club - Andrzej Lupiński, Janusz Mięsak, Sylwia Kleczkowska, Edward Szybisty, Marek Sałyga, Wojciech Skrzypkowski and Zbigniew Kamiński - for the organization of the Competition.
Centennial Gun & Bow Club is a non-profit organization spreading practice and knowledge on hunting, developing shooting skills, cultivating Polish hunting traditions and promoting them among American community.
