Pulaski Skyway Rehabilitation Project: Important Closure Information

03 kwietnia, 2014

Commuters Should Expect Delays. On April 12, 2014, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) will begin the Pulaski Skyway Rehabilitation Project that will close all Pulaski Skyway northbound lanes toward Jersey City and New York for two years. The Pulaski Skyway carries Routes 1 & 9 to Jersey City and provides access to New York.

The Holland Tunnel will remain open during the Skyway closures, but customers may experience significant delays eastbound (to New York), and should consider alternate routes, and all mass transit options including bus, rail, light rail, PATH train, and ferry service. Customers may also experience residual eastbound delays at Hudson River crossings and Staten Island Bridges.

NJ TRANSIT will provide expanded rail and bus service. Visit www.njtransit.com for information, fares and schedules. PATH will provide increased service at Newark during the morning peak, and Hoboken will accommodate additional customers for trips to Jersey City and New York City. Visit www.panynj.gov/path for details.

For more information, including transit and travel options, visit NJDOT’s website at www.pulaskiskyway.com, or call their project hotline at 973-776-7400. Call 511 or visit www.511NJ.org or www.511NY.org the latest regional traffic conditions.
