\"Forbidden Art\" an Exhibition by the Auschwitz – Birkenau State Museum in Manhattan NY

Forbidden Art, a twenty-panel traveling exhibition of the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum of Poland, is being showcased in Manhattan through the middle of November.
On the evening of November the 12th, an opening gala event was held at the Park East Synagogue (163 East 67th Street), attended by guest of honor, Ambassador Ryszard Schnepf, Consul General of Israel in New York, Ido Aharoni, Consul General of Poland in New York, Ewa Juńczyk-Ziomecka, and Mr. Martin Karlinsky of the Friends of Auschwitz – Birkenau Foundation.

In 2011, the Forbidden Art exhibition was created and shown in Poland to showcase a series of rare examples of art created by prisoners at Auschwitz. The exhibition is part of a nationwide awareness campaign to protect the Auschwitz site through conservation and education.
