Postponed event. \"Walesa. Man of Hope\". Premier in US Congress with President Lech Walesa as the guest of honor

A film directed by Oscar-winning director Andrzej Wajda “We the People” will resound again in the Capitol, 24 years after Lech Walesa began a joint-meeting of the United States Congress leading with those famous words of the preamble to the US Constitution.

Words that moved hearts and minds are included in the final scene of “Walesa. Man of Hope”.

A film, celebrating Poland’s Path to Freedom, will have its US premier in Congress this October 8th. His new movie pays tribute to Lech Walesa’s life-long commitment to freedom, democracy, and Solidarity.

The evening, on which President Lech Walesa will be the guest of honor, will include Members of the United States Congress, political and economic elite. of Washington Members of the diplomatic corps, as well as distinguished guests from US and foreign media, are also expected to attend. All will have an opportunity to get familiar with a biopic film on the leader of the “Solidarity” movement. The program will also feature a post-premiere discussion with Lech Walesa.

Senator Christopher Murphy and Senator Barbara Mikulski, as Co-Chairs of the Senate Poland Caucus, will offer opening remarks and welcome Lech Walesa back to Capitol Hill.

Due to the unique nature of such an event at the Capitol, its guests and all members of the US Senate and US House of Representatives, will receive a commemorative stamp as well as a philatelic folder, specially issued by the Polish Postal Service to celebrate Lech Walesa’s 70th birthday.

The projection of the film „Walesa. Man of Hope” in Congress is planned as a uniquely prestigious politically-cultural event.

It is also set to be a great occasion to promote the latest work of director Andrzej Wajda, a Polish candidate for Oscar in the category of foreign best picture.
