Polish Filmmakers NYC at the Tribeca Film Center. Film Political Dress
27 kwietnia, 2013
Polish Filmmakers NYC\'s goal is to introduce New York audiences to the newest and best Polish artists in film.
Its next free screening will be held on Thursday, May 9th, 2013 at the Tribeca Film Center, 375 Greenwich St. in New York.
The May 9th screening will be held in partnership with New York Women in Film & Television. A reception will follow the films at nearby Cristina Dos Santos studio, 39 North Moore St. (between Hudson & Varick).
Film Political Dress shows how fashion can serve as a political statement. In Communist times, bright colors and tailoring were a personal weapon against the dullness of everyday life. Poland\'s subversive style odyssey lasted 45 years, culminating in a variety of personal style choices that are unique and highly expressive. (Click on the photo to view the trailer.)
The film is part of the Guide to Poles documentary series, comprised of films surveying Polish culture.
The film will be followed by a Q&A with director Judyta Fibiger. 2011. Director: Judyta Fibiger
