The situation in Ukraine and the forthcoming NATO summit in Newport are some of the points of today’s meeting in Warsaw
During the talks with the US Representatives Steve Chabot, Llloyd Doggett and Luke Messer, Deputy Minister Winid thanked for their commitment to Polish affairs, including the measures taken to include Poland in the visa-waiver programme.
The meeting also discussed security situation against the background of the Russia-Ukraine crisis. The officials emphasised the need for continued joint commitment of the United States and the European Union to solving it. The talks also covered preparations for the NATO Summit in Newport in September 2014.
“I extend my thanks to members of the US Congress for commemorating the history of Polish heroism in the fight for freedom,” said Deputy Minister Winid in his closing address, speaking about the recent resolution by the US Congress about the 70th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising.
