Cooperation between Poland and Hong Kong

04 lutego, 2014

“Hong Kong is an important partner for Polish businessmen. Our business is aware of the key role that Hong Kong plays in Chinese trade and investments,” said Undersecretary of State Katarzyna Kacperczyk at a Chinese New Year’s reception organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Warsaw on 3 February.

The Council promotes trade and services of Hong Kong-based companies in the world.

Deputy Minister Kacperczyk stressed that trade between Poland and Hong Kong has been growing. In 2012, exports to Hong Kong went up by 68 % relative to 2011, totalling EUR 390.5 million. Imports grew by 37 % year on year and were worth EUR 170.1 million. Deputy Foreign Minister Kacperczyk believes that there is still a lot of potential that Polish business and diplomacy together with their Hong Kong partners could tap into. Raising the Hong Kong representative office in Poland to the rank of an Economic and Trade Office could serve this end.

“Poland has plenty to offer foreign investors. We would like to draw your attention to Polish architecture and industrial design which have gained world recognition. This year, we would like to invite designers from Hong Kong to participate in the Łódź Design Festival,” said Deputy Minister Kacperczyk in her concluding remarks.
