The Second International Piano Competition \"Federico Chopin\" Lima - Peru 2013

On behalf of the Polish Embassy in Peru and the National Conservatory of Music of Peru we have a pleasure to announce the Second International Piano Competition \'Frederic Chopin\' Lima-Peru 2013
The Polish Embassy in Peru and the National Conservatory of Music of Peru have pleasure to announce the Second International Piano Competition \'Frederic Chopin\' Lima-Peru 2013. The bases and schedule have been modified since the prior edition, therefore the event will consist of two phases: Qualifying and Final phase.
The present repertoire has been adjusted to the new demands of the competition. Due to this fact, it is even a greater opportunity for young talents in South America to continue the path traced by the first edition of this competition. The participants will be able to prepare themselves to concur in the famous competition held every five years in Warsaw, Poland.
The contest is open to all pianists born or with a citizenship of one of a South American country (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela). The participants must be born after July 24, 1983. Entries can be made until October 30, 2013.
The contest amended Schedule is:
- Order of participation: December 11.
- First phase (Qualifying phase): 12 and 13 December.
- Second Phase (Final phase): 14 and December 15.
- Laureates Concert: December 17.
The jury is composed of leading and internationally renowned soloists: Raphael Alexander Lustchevsky (Poland) President, Alexandros Jusakos Mardones (Chile), Marcela Mazzini (Peru) and Martha Noguera (Argentina).
The first prize in the competition is a two week visit to Poland for an academic residency at the Frederic Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, with tickets, accommodation and meals included. During the stay, (the) winner (s) will take part in master classes, recitals and concerts.
The competition will be summarized by the "Concert of Laureates" scheduled for December 17, 2013. All the stages of the competition (Qualifying and Final) will be held in the Auditorium of the Conservatory Historical Office (Av. Emancipation 180, Lima) and entry will be free for the public.
The contest is a splendid opportunity to evaluate new talents of the piano in the region and also is a wonderful opportunity to give a boost to the career of young musicians. The terms and application form can be downloaded here.
