2010 Miss Polonia

Polish Scholarship Fund, Inc. announces their 56th annual festival to be held June 11, 12, and 13, 2010 at Syracuse’s Clinton Square will feature JIMMY STURR AND HIS ORCHESTRA Saturday night for your listening pleasure! JIMMY STURR AND HIS ORCHESTRA has over 106 recordings; the excellence of these recordings has been recognized and rewarded throughout the very competitive music industry. JIMMY STURR AND HIS ORCHESTRA is on the Top Ten list of the All-time Grammy Awards, has won eighteen Grammy Awards and has received more consecutive Grammy nominations that anyone in the history of musical awards. Broadcast Music Inc. (BMI) has awarded JIMMY STURR & HIS ORCHESTRA its most valued award, the “Commendation of Excellence”. The only one ever awarded in the polka field.

Applications for Miss Polonia need to be filed by April 15, 2010. Applications are available on line at www.polishscholarship.com along with all other information. Applicants for Miss Polonia must be of Polish descent and reside in the central New York area.
Incorporated as a 501(c)(3), nonprofit organization, the Polish Scholarship Fund has presented a Polish Festival for the past 55 years in Syracuse, NY. Proceeds from the festival are the primary source of funding for PSF scholarship programs. An all-volunteer organization, the Polish Scholarship Fund has distributed more than $270,000 in scholarship money to students of Polish descent.

The Polish Festival is expecting to attract over 25,000 to downtown Syracuse, providing an opportunity for 700,000 residents in the Syracuse Metropolitan Area to learn more about Polish-American history and culture. Attendants will enjoy traditional Polish music, dance, cuisine, books, crafts, including handmade pottery and woodwork and Polish beer.
